NWCC activities are coordinated by the the American Wind Wildlife Institute (AWWI). Key AWWI staff that facilitate the NWCC are:
Lauren Flinn, Facilitator (Program Manager and Facilitator at AWWI)
Lauren Flinn has supported the NWCC Wildlife Workgroup since 2010. She joined AWWI in December 2011 and prior to then helped facilitate and manage the NWCC while a RESOLVE. Lauren coordinates all information outreach efforts of the NWCC and facilitates its research collaboratives.
Lauren holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Studies from Williams College.
Abby Arnold, Senior Mediator (Executive Director of AWWI)
Abby Arnold has managed the NWCC for over 20 years, is the American Wind Wildlife Institute’s Executive Director, and is a Senior Mediator and Vice President of the Washington DC-based firm Kearns & West. Abby is known for designing collaborative processes that bring diverse stakeholders together, elevate the best available science into decision-making processes, and achieve results. As Senior Mediator at the Kearns & West, Abby was lead facilitator and strategic advisor for the Department of the Interior’s Wind Turbine Guidelines Federal Advisory Committee and many other regional and national collaborations. Abby holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. in Environmental Planning and Politics from UC Santa Cruz.
