Wildlife Workgroup
The mission of the NWCC Wildlife Workgroup is to identify, define, discuss, and through broad stakeholder involvement andcollaboration address wind-wildlife and wind-habitat interaction issues to promote the shared objective of developing commercial markets for wind power in the United States.
Conference Calls
On the workgroup's bi-monthly conference calls, members discuss emerging trends and potential collaborative activities to advance understanding and address concerns about potential impacts to wildlife from wind energy development. Participants also share and learn about priorities, research, and activities of other sectors and organizations. The schedule for these calls is available on the NWCC events calendar. To receive the call-in information by email, please register for the Wildlife Workgroup email list by clicking the link below:

Wind Wildlife Research Meetings
The workgroup also has convened eight bi-annual Wind Wildlife Research Meetings where researchers from around the world meet to discuss research on the potential impacts of wind development to wildlife and habitat, as well as methods for mitigating the impacts. For information on the 2010 Wind Wildlife Research Meeting, click here. The next Research Meeting will take place the week of October 22, 2012.
Wildlife Workgroup Core Group
The NWCC Wildlife Workgroup decided at its meeting on May 5, 2005, to create a Core Group consisting of representatives from each of the sectors represented in the Workgroup. The intent is to add structure and continuity to the Workgroup, given the fluctuations in participation in the Wildlife Workgroup conference calls, meetings, and workshops.
