NWCC/WGA Transmission Products Webinar

February 2, 2007
Noon EST (11am CST, 10am MST, 9am PST)

Want to know more about conditional firm and redispatch, two transmission products under consideration by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in its proposed Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) reform NOPR? Then join the National Wind Coordinating Collaborative (NWCC) and the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) for our FREE Transmission Products Webinar – Friday, February 2nd at noon ET (11 am CT, 10 am MT, 9 am PT). Call length: One hour

Featured Speakers
Natalie McIntire, Renewable Northwest Project
Don Furman, PPM Energy

Conditional firm transmission service is a way for more generators to use existing transmission lines under long-term contracts. Redispatch is a method of resolving transmission congestion by changing generator output levels to reduce congestion, which may enable additional firm transmission sales. Our featured speakers will address how these transmission products work, when and where they might apply, benefits, and challenges.

The WGA Clean and Diversified Energy Advisory Committee (CDEAC) recommendations call for “implementing a conditional-firm, re-dispatch, and related tariff reform transmission products where feasible and consistent with the policy of an independent system operator or regional transmission organization.” This webinar is part of WGA and NWCC’s work to implement the CDEAC recommendations. The webinar is especially recommended for utility regulators, state energy officials, utilities, and others involved with efficient use of the existing transmission system.

Q&A opportunities will be provided!
Ms. McIntire and Mr. Furman will spend the second half of the webinar answering your questions. Brendan Kirby, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will also participate as a technical expert helping field questions on conditional firm and redispatch application.

How to login!
