Business Meeting #33

June 28-29, 2004
Dallas, TX

You are invited to participate in an upcoming National Wind Coordinating Committee Business Meeting June 28-29th, 2004 in Dallas, TX. The event is being coordinated by the Steering Committee of the NWCC in conjunction with the Southwest Power Pool and regional interests.

The NWCC identifies issues that affect the use of wind power, establishes dialogue among key stakeholders, and catalyzes activities to support the development of environmentally, economically, and politically sustainable commercial markets for wind power. Formed in 1994, the NWCC is a collaborative endeavor that includes representatives from electric utilities and their support organizations; state legislatures; state utility commissions; consumer advocacy offices; wind equipment suppliers and developers; green power marketers; environmental organizations; and local, regional, tribal, state, and federal agencies. NWCC members are representative stakeholders from around the country.

This meeting will bring together NWCC Members and regional leaders to discuss transmission and siting issues for wind development. Specifically, this meeting seeks to:

  • To provide an orientation for NWCC members and guests to relevant transmission and wind development siting issues in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) region
  • Begin planning for a regional forum to be convened Fall 2004 or Winter 2005.
  • Discuss NWCC activities and workgroup plans for the upcoming year

The workshop and forum will be held at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott South Hotel.
