You are invited to participate in an
upcoming National Wind Coordinating Committee Business Meeting June
28-29th, 2004 in Dallas, TX. The event is being coordinated by the
Steering Committee of the NWCC in conjunction with the Southwest Power
Pool and regional interests.
The NWCC identifies issues that affect the
use of wind power, establishes dialogue among key stakeholders, and
catalyzes activities to support the development of environmentally,
economically, and politically sustainable commercial markets for wind
power. Formed in 1994, the NWCC is a collaborative endeavor that includes
representatives from electric utilities and their support organizations;
state legislatures; state utility commissions; consumer advocacy offices;
wind equipment suppliers and developers; green power marketers;
environmental organizations; and local, regional, tribal, state, and
federal agencies. NWCC members are representative stakeholders from around
the country.
This meeting will bring together NWCC
Members and regional leaders to discuss transmission and siting issues for
wind development. Specifically, this meeting seeks to:
- To provide an orientation for NWCC members
and guests to relevant transmission and wind development siting issues in
the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) region
- Begin planning for a regional forum to be
convened Fall 2004 or Winter 2005.
- Discuss NWCC activities and workgroup
plans for the upcoming year
The workshop and forum will be held at the
Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott South Hotel.
