Collaborative Objectives

The NWCC's broad objectives are to provide a forum for identifying and discussing issues that impact the use of wind power, to catalyze actions addressing key issues, and to build consensus among varied stakeholder groups. Consensus us defined as "all can live with."

NWCC's activities are designed to explore and address:

  • Environmental and siting issues related to wind power, including wildlife mortality and land use considerations;
  • Wind energy electrical transmission and utility system integration issues;
  • Opportunities for self-sustaining wind generation within the regulatory, legislative, power marketing, economic development, and agricultural communities;
  • Market barriers and obstacles to determine a sustained orderly development path for the wind industry.

Through participation from all sectors with a stake in the development of wind power, NWCC aims to optimize this opportunity for the benefit of society as a whole. While encompassing many viewpoints, the NWCC's single vision is self-sustaining commercial markets for wind power that is environmentally, economically, and politically sustainable.
